Ronald Cruz

Bristol, RI - Ronald M. Cruz, 71, of Bristol, died Monday, April 29, 2013, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI. Born in New Bedford, MA on June 18, 1941, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Silvia) Cruz. Mr. Cruz served in the United States Navy for 23 years before becoming a systems analyst. Mr. Cruz loved to do anything on the water, but especially enjoyed sailing. He was also a lifetime member of VFW. Besides his wife of 23 years, he is survived by his sons, James Cruz, Robert Cruz and Peter Cruz all of New Hampshire, his brother Michael Yorston of New Bedford, MA and six grandchildren.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013, from 4-7pm in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI. His funeral will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013, at 9am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
