Middletown, RI - Rose Catherine Schild Trimble, 106, of Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI, formerly of 86 Tuckerman Avenue, Middletown, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at the center. She was the wife of the late Herbert Dennison Trimble. Born in Philadelphia, PA on February 3, 1901, she was the daughter of the late William and Rose Schild.Rose recalls evenings from her childhood doing homework, listening to the radio, reading, and talking with friends. Math was her favorite subject in school. Rose met her husband, Herbert in Pennsylvania. He worked as a contractor and came to Aquidneck Island to build estates. He later started his own company. Rose worked with her husband as a bookkeeper. Their daughter, Anita, was born in 1930. She later bore Rose three granddaughters and a grandson.Rose was a member of the Edward King House Senior Center for more than 25 years; and made and donated many crocheted baby sets. Her other hobbies included gardening, knitting, and making her own clothes. The Trimbles spent winters in Florida and traveled throughout New England, Canada and Niagara falls.Rose recalls her biggest challenge in life was ?life in Philadelphia being poor, and her biggest accomplishment as making a good life here. She was previously a resident of Blenheim Newport. She is survived by her daughter Anita T. Roberts of Middletown, RI, her grandchildren Bruce Roberts of LeGrange, Me, Cathy King of Colorado Springs, CO, Stacey Roberts of Tiverton, RI and Sue Craft of Middletown, RI, and her great grandchildren, Jeffrey King, Leslie Roberts, Jennfier King, Scott Roberts, Stephanie King and Kelley Craft. She was the sister of the late William Schild, Pauline Schaeffer and Elizabeth Baumann.
