Rose Elizabeth Healey

Rose Elizabeth (Frier) Healey, 98, of Third Street, Portsmouth, RI, formerly of 35 Bradley Terrace, Portsmouth, RI, died on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Forest Farm Health Care Center in Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late Jeremiah J. Healey. Born in Newton, MA on March 14, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Oscar F. and Rose (Binder) Freier.Mrs. Healey worked as a government coordinator for MasonKneeland International in Norwood, MA for 25 years retiring in 1980. She was a communicant of St. Anthonys Church as well a member of its choir, a member of the Portsmouth Senior Center, was an avid painter and sang in the Island Senior Chorus. She is survived her daughter, Carolyn "Lynn" Marten of Portsmouth, RI, her grandchildren, Heidi Marie Marten, Kimberly Beth Healey, Craig Forest Healey, Kirk Allen Ferland, Karen Lynn Ewald, Kristy Rose Harrington and John Marten, thirteen great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and several step-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Neil F. Healey and Mary Dowd, and the sister of the late William Oscar Freier and Carl Francis Freier. Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 9 am from Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.Burial will be private.
