Middletown, RI - Rose Dorothy (Marshall) Moniz, 98, of 124 Ellery Avenue, Middletown, formerly of 27 Fenner Avenue, Newport, RI, died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Forest Farm Health Care Center Middletown, RI. She was married 69 years to the Late Frank S. Moniz, Sr. who was decorated for his service in WWII.Born in Newport, RI on February 6, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Frank Marshall and Mary (Mathias) Marshall. She attended Rogerss High School in Newport Rhode Island and married Frank in 1940. Before marrying Frank, she worked at the Lincoln Store and worked domestically in many homes. She was a housewife and mother raising their three sons. Mrs. Moniz is survived by her three sons, Frank S. Moniz Jr. and his wife Bernadette of Kerrville, TX, Raymond A Moniz and his wife Gayle of Sandwich, MA and Peter J Moniz and his wife Corlis of Mendon, MA, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Francis Marshall, Joseph Marshall, William Marshall, Mary Marshall Oliver, Helen Marshall Olson, Isabelle Marshall Lapane, Alice Marshall Kinnear, Marian Marshall, Irene Marshall Carvalho Duffy, Gladys Marshall, Evelyn Marshall Whitaker and Ann Hunter.Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015, from 4-8PM, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at 9:30AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30:AM, in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.
