Rosel Provost

Rosel Provost, passed away peacefully April 16, 2016, surrounded by her children. Rosel was born in Oberschleichach, Germany and came to this country in 1957 to join her husband whom she met and married in Schweinfurt, Germany.She was the daughter of the late Maria and Ludwig Wirsching.Rosel beloved mother of Leon, Roy and Rosel Provost.She loved to knit, crochet, gardening and baking her German Tortes. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Merle Provost, one infant child and her brothers Oscar, Franz and Heinrich Wirsching, and sister, Gunda Wenner, and her watch dog Rudy.She leaves behind her sisters Elsa, Ida, Anni and Maria all of Germany, and several nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016, from 4-7pm at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 9am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10am in St. Josephs Church, Broadway, Newport, RI.
