Ruben F. Erausquin, 71, of Rogers Lane, Middletown, RI, died on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Newport Hospital.Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Juan and Alejandrina (Diaz) Erausquin.Mr. Erausquin worked as a laborer in the Public Works Department on the Newport Naval Base before retiring.He is survived by his children, Judy Perez of Providence, RI, Ruben Erausquin, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Newport, RI, Jacquelyn McGaughey of Newport, RI and Nicole McGaughey of Middletown; his brothers and sisters, Carlos, Freddie, Mickey, Rosie and Maria; grandchildren, Miguel and Evan Perez, Alexia Lee, Nico, Jenna and Noah Erausquin, Zachary McGaughey and Jared Neves; and great-grandchildren, Aniyah, Angellee and Eric.He was predeceased by his daughter, Iris Erausquin Neves and grandchild, Jordan Neves.His funeral service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 1:00 pm in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012 from 11:00am - 1:00pm in the funeral home just prior to the service.In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, One State Street, Suite 200, Providence, RI 02908.
