Portsmouth, RI - Russell H. Chandler, Jr., 97, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Warren Skilled Nursing Center Warren, RI. He was the husband of the late Pearl (Hyslop) Chandler. Born in New Bedford, MA on September 30, 1917, he was the son of the late Russell H. and Alma (Pierce) Chandler. He is survived by his daughter Patricia A. Winthrop of Portsmouth, RI, his siblings Doris Magoone of Dartmouth, MA, and Carol Pilkington of Dartmouth, MA, and his grandson Russell Winthrop of Portsmouth, RI.He was the father-in-law of the late Francis Winthrop, and the brother of the late Donald Chandler, Robert Chandler, Myrtle Steele and Grace Jupin. His funeral will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014, at 10AM in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
