Russell James Dufault

Russell J. Dufault, 74, of Portsmouth, passed on Friday, June 5, 2015 at home in Portsmouth. Russell was born March 15, 1941 in Fall River, MA. He is the son of the late Adelaide and the late Evelyn (Martin) Dufault.He was happily married for 54 years, to his wife, Gertrude (Trudy) Ann Conforti.Russell was an avid golfer and was a member of Montaup Country Club for more than 30 years. Over the years, he was a member of the Rhode Island Golfer's Association and the Chemawa Golf Club. He was known as "Doc" and was known for his "Fred Astaire" dance moves. Russell's sense of humor is what most will fondly remember. He owned and operated, with Trudy, Consolation Restaurant Lounge (Cooks Bar/Grill) in Woonsocket, RI for more than 20 years.He is survived by his wife, Trudy and his children, Karen Recore, Russell J, Glen P, and the late Michael E. Dufault.. He is also survived by his siblings, Lorraine Dufault, Patsy Sutton, the late Adelaide, Kenneth Dufault and Gloria Benevides, also his grandchildren, Cassie Owens, Katie Steward, Candace and Glen Dufault, and many nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be held on Thursday June 11, 2015, from 4-7pm in the Connors Funeral Home 55 West Main Road in Portsmouth, RIHis funeral will be held on Friday June 12, 2015 at 9am in the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10am in St Anthony's Church 2836 East Main Road in Portsmouth.Burial will be private.
