Ruth I. Hay

Tiverton, RI - Ruth Ibbotson Hay, 87, of 841 Main Road, Tiverton, RI, died Monday, August 30, 2010 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI.She was the wife of the late Robert F. Hay. Born in Tiverton, RI on December 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Helen Higginson Ibbotson.Mrs. Hay worked for 27 years as an assembler for the former Isadore Settlow in Fall River, retiring in 1980, prior to that she worked at the Torpedo Station on Goat Island. She is survived by her brothers Henry Ibbotson of Tiverton, RI, John Ibbotson of Fall River, MA and Donald Ibbotson of Portsmouth, RI, and her sisters, Marion Ormerod of Portsmouth, RI, Helen Reed of Safety Harbor, FL, Grace Miner of Somerset, MA, Sylvia Rousseau of Tiverton, RI, and Emily Holden of Tiverton, RI.She was the sister of the late William Ibbotson and Naomi Tribble. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 3, 2010, at 10:00AM, in Braman Cemetery, 100 Farewell Street, Newport.
