Middletown, - Ruth Kesson Gualteri, 98, of 333 Green End Avenue, Middletown, formerly of 23 Greene Lane, Newport, died Thursday, November 14, 2002 at Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI.She was the wife of Nicholas P.Gualteri. Born in Newport, RI on February 22, 1904, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Etta White Kesson. Mrs. Gualteri had worked as a legal secretary for 50 years at Corcoran Peckham and Hayes of Newport, RI. She was a member of St. Georges Episcopal Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a direct decendent of Pargon White, the first child born in New England aboard the Mayflower in Cape Cod Bay. She is survived by a daughter Nancy M. Barker of Middletown, RI, two grandsons, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late James E. Kesson Jr., Henry Kesson, John Kesson, George Kesson, Sophie Reynolds, Marion Juliussen, and Louise Hussey.A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 18, 2002 at 11:00AM in St. Marys Churchyard, East Main Road, Portsmouth. Donations may be made in her memory to Nina Lynette Home, 87 Washington Street, Newpor, RI, 02840. Arrangements are by the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
