S. Noreen Barnhart

Portsmouth, 87 - S. Noreen Barnhart, of Portsmouth, died at Forest Farm HealthCare Center, on Wednesday August 21, 2013, surrounded by her family. Born in Newport, RI, on December 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Everett Sherman and Ruth (Gray) Sherman. She retired at the age of 70, after 24 years of working as an Editorial Assistant for Cruising World Magazine, a New York Times Company, a job she truly loved. She is survived by her children JoAnn Morgan and her husband Lynn T. Morgan II, of Edgewater, Fl., and David Roy Barnhart and his wife Diane, of Tiverton, RI. In addition to her children, she is also survived by her grand children, Jason David Barnhart and his wife Heidi of Tiverton, RI and Eric Wayne Minnerly and his wife Chelsea, of Longmont, CO., and five great grand children. She is preceded in death by both of her parents and her husband Roy R. Barnhart. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 26, 2013, at 10:00am, in the Union Cemetery, East Main Road, Portsmouth.
