Bowie, - Sadie Gomes Souza, 90, formerly of 1591 West Main Road, Middletown, died Friday, January 10, 2003 at Larkin Chase Nursing Home Bowie, MD. She moved to Bowie, MD in 2001.She was the wife of the late Manuel Souza. Born in Portsmouth, RI on September 21, 1912, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary R. Motts Gomes. Mrs. Souza was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church. She is survived by three sons Manuel Souza Jr., Richard F. Souza, and David J. Souza all of Middletown, RI, her daughter Judith Sadie Crawford of Bowie, MD, her brother Louis Gomes of Middletown, RI, three sisters Josephine Silvia and Evelyn Fernandes of Middletown, RI, and Gertrude Narcizo of Sandusky, OH, four grandchildren and one great grandson.She was the sister of the late Ernest Gomes, James S. Gomes Jr., John F. Gomes, Frank Gomes, Elizabeth Lacerda, Anna Silvia and Mary R. Escobar. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2003, at 8:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00AM, in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport.
