Sally P. Bloomfield

MIDDLETOWN - Sally Patricia (Oxx) Bloomfield, 84, of Middletown, RI, died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Newport Hospital. Sally was born in Newport on July 18, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Gordon Dixon and Glorine (Raynor) Oxx.She was the sister of the late Gordon Dixon Oxx, Jr.She was the President of the Middletown Garden Club, President of the Republican Women (Newport Chapter), member of the Middletown Historical Society, and member (formerly vestry) of Church of the Holy Cross.She was an avid "Third Beacher", participated in the Newport Flower Show and took great pride in her grandchildren. Sally is survived by her daughters, Lani Hudgins, her husband, David of Merced, CA; Nancy Arthur, her husband, Rick of Brookville; MD, and her sister Katherine Frid, her husband Peter of Madbury, NH. She also leaves one niece, four nephews and nine grandchildren. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.Funeral services will be held at Church of the Holy Cross, 1439 West Main Road, Middletown on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at 12-noon.
