NEWPORT, RI - Salvador ?Sal? Ratac Abua, 71, of 203 Third Street, Newport, RI, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at home with is family. He was the husband of Juana Porcioncula Abua. Born in Kalayaan Laguna Phillippines, on August 6, 1934, he was the son of the late Dominador and Faustina Ratac Abua. Mr. Abua was a certified public accountant for the John Clarke Cook House Incorporated. He was a communicant of St. Josephs Church. Mr. Abua was a member of the Middletown Knights of Columbus 4203, the Philipino American Association and the Kiwanis Club of Newport. He loved tending to his vegetable garden and going with his wife to bingo. Besides his wife of 49 years, he is survived by his sons Bernardo Abua and Jose Abua both of Newport, RI, his daughters Julie King of Portsmouth, RI and Era Burrows of Naples Italy, his sisters Anicia Nadal of the Phillippines, Benita Egano of Newport, RI and Mamerta Guinguing of Middletown, RI, his grandchildren Jonathan Abua and Antonio Abua of Newport, RI, Diana King, Kristina King and Marisa King all of Portsmouth, RI, and Brian Burrows and Eric Burrows of Naples Italy, his brother in-law Leopoldo Porcioncula and sister in-laws Bautista Porcioncula and Puring Porcioncula all of San Diego, CA. He was the brother of the late Marcelino Abua and Crispin Abua. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at 9:00AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in St. Josephs Church, Broadway And Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 6, 2006, 5-8PM in the Memorial Funeral Home.
