Samuel Taylor

Portsmouth, RI - Samuel Taylor, 93, of 282 Common Fence Boulevard Portsmouth, RI died Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at Grace Barker Nursing Center Warren, RI. He was the husband of the late Agnes Boardman Taylor. Born in Denton,, England on Feb. 9, 1911, he was the son of the late Joseph Taylor and Mary Council Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a Textile Printer with Dartmouth Finishing Co. Darthmouth, MA until his retirement in 1973. Mr. Taylor served in the United States Navy during World II as a Second Class radio operator on a sub chaser. He loved working in his vegetable garden and enjoyed long walks and doing crossword puzzles. He was also a loyal and avid Red Sox fan. He is survived by Daughter Susan Taylor of Middletown, CT, and a Brother Herbert Taylor of Taunton, MA. His is preceded in death by his brother John Taylor and his sister Jessie Taylor.His funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 14, at 9:00 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
