Sarah Almeida

Newport, RI - Sarah E. Almeida, 80, a resident of the Grand Island Health Care Center, Middletown, formerly of 861 Mitchells Lane, Middletown, died Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Newport Hospital. Born in Middletown, RI on September 20, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary Elshant Cloud.Mrs. Almeida was a communicant of St. Lucys Church in Middletown. She is survived by her sons, Charles Almeida, Jr. of Middletown, RI and Robert Almeida of Greenville, SC, her sisters Agnes Shaffell and Margaret Deery, both of Middletown, RI, three grandchildren, Dustin Almeida, Kristopher Almeida and Daicha Almeida, two great-grandchildren, Gavin Almeida and Huntley Almeida, and a dear family friend, Peggy Rice of Middletown.She was the sister of the late John Cloud, Joseph Cloud, Mary Keith and Theresa Perry. Her funeral will be held on Monday, September 17, 2007 at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Lucy Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2007 from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
