Sarah Cole

North Waterboro, ME - Sarah Brown Cole, 90, of North Waterboro, ME and St. Cloud, FL, formerly of Phillips Avenue, Middletown, died Monday, February 26, 2007 at St. Cloud Regional Medical Center, in St. Cloud, FL. She was married for over 50 years to the late Oliver C. Cole who passed away in August of 1990. Born in Newport, RI on March 7, 1916, she was the daughter of the late James and Sarah Evans Brown. Mrs. Cole graduated from Rogers High School and then entered the Newport Hospital Nurses School. She became a registered nurse in 1937 and did private nursing duties in the 60?s and 70?s. Mrs. Cole was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Newport and also the Newport Hospital Alumni Association. She was an avid reader of mystery stories and she also loved being with her two cats and two dogs. She is survived by her son James Cole of St. Cloud, FL, her daughter Carol Carey and her husband Paul of N. Waterboro, ME, her grandchildren James Carey and Barbara Low also in Maine, her great grandchildren, Kristen and Ben Low, Collen and Lauren Carey, her niece Sally Malena of Clermont, FL, her nephew George Reese of E. Greenbush, NY and several great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Christina Brown.Her funeral will be held on Friday, March 2, 2007, at 10:00am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Friday morning from 9-10am in the Memorial Funeral Home.
