Saraphina Almeida LitseyNEWPORT, RI - Saraphina Almeida Litsey, 88, of Newport, RI, died Saturday, November 5, 2005, at the Village House Nursing Home, Newport, RI, surrounded by her loving family.She was the beloved wife of the late Herbert O. Litsey Sr.Born in Fall River, MA, on June 15, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Louis D. and Marianna Alves Almeida.Sarah was a dedicated homemaker and avid seamstress that later enjoyed her time as a cook while working for the Nelson Nursing Home in Middletown.She is survived by her son Herbert O. Litsey Jr. of Wilmington, NC, two daughters Barbara J. Silvia along with her husband Anthony of Summerville, SC, formerly of Middletown, RI, and Robin Menzies of Lafayette, CA, nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She was also the grandmother of the late Anthony C. Silvia.She also leaves behind four sisters Emily Poisson of Hemet, CA, Lilotina Gomes of Little Compton, RI, Marianna Proulx of Lady Lake, FL, and Amelia Marusa of The Villages, FL.She was also the sister of the late Louis Almeida, Angela Shellman, Viola Neronha, and Constance Branco.Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at 10:00AM, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, from 9:00AM until the time of the service.Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Rhode Island Chapter, 245 Waterman Street, Providence, RI, 02906.
