Scott Allen Brady, 46, of 85 Benoit Street, Westport, MA, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at home surrounded by his family.Born in Newport, RI on November 16, 1963, he was the son of Jacqueline McCauley Gill and her husband Richard of Tiverton, RI, and the late Gerald Brady.Scott grew up in Tiverton and graduated from Tiverton High School, where he also played for the football team. For several years, he worked in the maintenance department at St. Georges School as a pipe fitter and plumber. He later took a job as a licensed pipe fitter and plumber for Atlantic Control of Exeter, RI. Scott loved to play music, and was proficient on the guitar, harmonica and banjo. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson with a great group of friends.Besides his mother and step father he is survived by his sister Lauri Smart of Newport, his step brother Richard Gill Jr. of Louisiana, his step sisters Christine Gill of Tiverton and Vicki Kenna of Warren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his best friend and brother Kevin McCormack of Tiverton.He was the brother of the late Jeraldine Brady. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2010, from 2-4 and 7-9 in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.His funeral will be held on Monday, August 30, 2010, at 11:00am, in the Memorial Funeral Home, followed by burial in Trinity Cemetery, East Main Road, Portsmouth.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society of Rhode Island, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886 or to Grace Bible Church, PO Box 128, Somerset, MA 02726.
