Sheila Ann Raffa

Sheila Ann Fontaine Raffa, 65, of 2 Equility Park Place Newport, died Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Heatherwood Nursing And Subacute Center Newport, RI. Born in Newport, RI on October 13, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Roger and Edith Wade Fontaine. Mrs Raffa attended St. Augustin?s School and graduated from St. Catherines Academy in 1957 where she was the Valedictorian of her graduating class. She graduated from Newport Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. Mrs. Raffa worked as a registered nurse at Newport Hospital and also in Oklahoma. Mrs. Raffa was a member of the Womens F.O.P. Association. She enjoyed knitting and caring for her grandchildren and watching basketball. She is survived by her former husband Thomas P. Raffa Jr. of Newport, RI and her four sons Thomas P. Raffa III of Elk Grove, CA, David Michael Raffa of Naples, FL, and Brian Thomas Raffa of South Kingstown, RI, Terence Duane Raffa of Middletown, RI,. One brother Roger L. Fontaine Jr. of Portsmouth, RI, and four sisters Marilyn Mendonca of Portsmouth, RI, Paula McCauley of Mesa, AZ, Maureen Early of East Palastine, Ohio, and Jane Higley of Plano, TX, and 8 Grandchildren. A Burial Service will be held Monday, January 10, 2005 at 11:00am, in St. Columba Cemetery Chapel, Browns Lane, Middletown, committal prayers will follow at graveside.
