Sheila Margaret Jeanes

Bristol, RI - Sheila M. Jeanes, of Bristol, RI, formerly of Eustis Avenue, Newport, died peacefully at Newport Hospital on Christmas Day, 2009. Born in Newport she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Josephine Rehill Jeanes.Sheila worked at the James L. Maher Center in the horticulture program for 40 years. She was active in the Black Light Theatre Group, Special Olympics, cheerleading, bowling and the art program. Her paintings were displayed in several local art galleries as well as the State House.Sheila was a warm, caring and affectionate lady who loved her family and friends. She also loved to travel, especially to Disney World. Her beloved sister and brother in law, Eileen and Walter Jachna of Newport survive her.Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 9:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Josephs Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 29, from 4:00-7:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home.
