Shirley E. Hewitt

Shirley E. Morris Hewitt, 86, of Royal Megansett Nursing Home North Falmouth, formerly of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, died Thursday, October 17, 2002 at Royal Megansett Nursing Home North Falmouth, MA. She was the wife of the late Ralph A. Hewitt, Sr. Born in Rutland, VT on November 28, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Powers Morris.Mrs. Hewitt worked at the Newport Naval Chaplain School as an Executive Secretary. She was a graduate of Barnard University in New York. She is survived by two sons Thomas Hewitt of Pittsburgh, PA, and Martin T. Hewitt of Bristol, RI, three daughters Mary Margaret Dutra of Mashpee, MA, Anne Nicol of Middleboro, MA, and Shelia Hewitt of Tyngesboro, MA and eight grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Ralph Hewitt Jr. and Elizabeth Hewitt, and the sister of the late Thomas Morris, Robert Morris and Mary Morris. Her funeral will be held on Monday, October 21, 2002, at 10:30 in Portsmouth Abbey Church, Corys Lane, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Portsmouth Abbey Cemetery in Portsmouth.
