Shirley Margarite Foster

Shirley M. Foster, 84, formerly of Bristol, RI, died Friday, March 6, 2009 at the John Clarke Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Middletown.She was the wife of the late Edward Foster III and the longtime companion of the Irving Mosher.Born in Rumford, ME on August 15, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mattie Porter Perry.Mrs. Foster worked a an Avon Representative for over 20 years and was also a bookkeeper for the former Wards Printing Co. for 5 years before retiring.She is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Foster Mosher and Shelley Jean, both of Portsmouth, RI, and Carolyn Quamme of Niantic, CT; a brother, Paul Perry of California; three sisters, Colleen Petrin of Bowdoinham, ME, and Sandra Wescott and Beverly Allen, both of Cumberland, ME; five grandchildren and four great-granchildren.She was the sister of the late Theodore Perry, Harold Perry, Edward Perry, Thomas Perry and Sally Simpson.Funeral service will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
