Shirley Marie Henderson

Newport, - Shirley Marie Halliburton Henderson, 67, of 22 Winslow Street Newport, died Friday, December 13, 2002 at Miriam Hospital Providence, RI. Born in Boston, MA on December 24, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ruby Leake Halliburton.Mrs. Henderson worked at the Florence Gray Center as a receptionist until 1993. Mrs. Henderson was on the Board of Directors at New Vision Health Center, the Board of Directors of Head Start Parent Policy, a member and past president of the Resident Council, on the Board of Tenant Affairs for Newport Housing and a member of the Board of Commissions for the Newport Housing Authority. She was a member of the Community Baptist Church. Mrs. Henderson was also an honoray police officer in Newport. She is survived by three sons Steven Vages and Thomas Edwards both of Barnstable, MA, and Floyd Maloney Jr. of Newport, RI, three daughters Robin Walker and Kelly Smith both of Fredericksburg, VA and Kim Earley of Newport, RI, fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2002, at 11:00AM, in the Community Baptist Church, 50 Dr. Marcus Wheatland Boulevard, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
