Sidney Jeffery Gordon

NEWPORT, RI - Sidney Jeffery Gordon, Sr., 50, of 23 Park Holm, Newport, RI, died Friday, February 17, 2006, at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of Brenda Joyce Walmsley Gordon.Born in San Diego, CA on March 1, 1955, he was the son of the late Harry Carter Gordon, Sr. and Mabel Hall Gordon.Mr. Gordon worked in the Water Division for the City of Newport for twenty-two years before working as an equipment operator for the Public Works Division for the last two years.Besides his wife, Brenda, he is survived by four sons, Sidney Jeffery Gordon, Jr., Richard Allen Gordon, and Joseph Carter Gordon, all of Pensacola, FL, and Terrence Michael Gordon of Newport, RI, three stepchildren, a brother Edward Goodson and a sister Barbara Spivey, both of North Carolina, and several grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his brother, Harry Carter Gordon, Jr.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 from 5-7PM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.
