Portsmouth, RI - Siobhan Ann (Sennott) McDonnell, 56, of Portsmouth, lost her courageous struggle with ALS on June 4 at Philip Hulitar Home Hospice Center. She was the devoted and cherished wife of Murray J. McDonnell. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Claire Fredette Sennott and the late Donald Merritt Sennott. She is survived by her sisters, Sheila Sennott of Amherst, MA, Eilisa Sennott of Lincoln, MA, and her brother, Sean Sennott of Providence, RI, a stepson, Brett McDonnell and a stepdaughter, Jennifer McDonnell, and their children, Haylee and Kaitlyn of Bakersfield, CA, a stepson Kevin McDonnell and stepdaughter, Megan McDonnell, and their children, Kayla and Ben of San Diego, CA. She also leaves a large, loving family in New Zealand. She will be sadly missed by all. She attended the Mary C. Wheeler School, Vassar College and graduated from the University of Rhode Island. Siobhan and Murray lived a happy life devoted to each other while he pursued his career globally as Shore Crew in a number of America`s Cup and Volvo races. Siobhan taught tutored children from many nations while they lived abroad, and on Aquidneck Island when they were in residence in Portsmouth. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 E. Main Rd., Portsmouth, RI.
