Portsmouth, RI ?SR. TERESA Catherine CONNOLLY, FCJ, of St. Philomena Convent, Portsmouth, died peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2007.Sr. Teresa was born in Castlegar, Co. Galway, Ireland, in 1912, the fifth child of a family of eleven. She entered the Society of the Sisters Faithful Companions of Jesus in 1935 in Bunclody, Ireland. For many years, Sister oversaw the students? dining facility of St. Mary?s FCJ School in Bunclody. When Sister retired from this ministry in 1980, she joined the St. Philomena FCJ community in Portsmouth where she assisted in the school dining room for several years. In her declining health, Sister resided at the Grand Islander Nursing Center, Middletown. She is mourned by her religious community, by her only surviving brother, Stephen, of Galway, Ireland, and other relatives and friends.Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours at St. Philomena Convent, Cory?s Lane, Portsmouth, on Monday, July 9, 2007, from 5:00-8:00pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm. The Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00am, Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at St. Philomena Convent. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Sr. Ann Marie Walsh Scholarship Fund, St. Philomena School, Portsmouth.
