Stanley F Oczkowski

Stanley F. Oczkowski, 80, of Wood Road, Middletown, RI, died Saturday, October 18, 2008, at the Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI. He was the husband of Patricia Belanger Oczkowski.Born in Lowell, MA, on July 20, 1928, he was the son of the late Stanley W. and Estelle Mucial Oczkowski.Stanley was a proud Veteran of the US Navy, serving during WWII, Korea and Vietnam, retiring after 25 years, as a Chief Petty Officer. Following his retirement, he spent the next 23 years as the Director of Environmental Services at what is now Heatherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newport. Stanley loved life and enjoyed the outdoors. Boating, biking, fishing, and camping were his life long enjoyments. He was also an avid reader. He particularly loved his daily trips to Ocean Drive with his Welsh Corgi, Jenna.Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother Gary Oczkowski of Raymond, NH, and two sisters Alice Tucker of Bellerica, MA, and Irene Gagnon of Lowell, MA. He was also the brother of the late Edward Oczkowski.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Marys Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
