Stanley M. Farak, 69, of Portsmouth died Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA. Born on February 10, 1946, in Erie, PA, he was the son of the late Stanley J. and Josephine (Kozik) Farak. Stan served honorably in the US Navy for 20 years, retiring in 1986 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. After his retirement, he held various jobs, but his greatest pleasure was becoming a self-titled Mr. Mom for his family. Stan was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, an avid fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team, and loved fishing and gardening. Known for his quick wit and dry humor, he enjoyed a good political discussion with anyone who was up for it and was a frequent contributor of "letters to the editor" and call-in radio stations with thought provoking questions.He is survived by his wife, Linda, of over 44 years, his daughters Sonja Farak of Northampton, MA, and Amy Farak and her husband John Fitzgerald of Portsmouth, RI, and his sisters, Janet Martin of Asheville, NC, and Jeraldine "Jeri" Blust of Cincinnati, OH.A private burial service with full Military Honors will take place in the Newport Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
