Middletown, RI - Stephanie Anne Giroux, 26, of 25 Massachusetts Avenue, Middletown, RI, joined our Lord in Heaven on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI. Born at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota on December 20, 1981, Stephanie grew up in South Dakota, Michigan, and California, as her parents served in the US Air Force. She graduated from Central High School in Rapid City, SD and attended college in Michigan for one year before joining the US Navy. She served for four years as a Corpsman, and took that experience to start nursing school at the University of Rhode Island after leaving the Navy. Stephanie was an active member of her church, she was a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church in Newport and enjoyed bible study, and spending time with both children and the elderly. She later began attending the Evangelical Friends Church in Middletown where she continued her joy in reading the Bible. Stephanie also loved animals and had two Weimaraners, Nikki and Lexi, for several years. She is survived by her mother Judy Anne Bean Wright and her husband John of Middletown, RI; her father Steven Jay Huffer and his fiance Penny Delaney of Lansing, MI; husband Justin Giroux of Middletown, RI, her brother Marques Huffer, his wife Jami and their daughter Olivia of Eagle, MI; her brother Dan Huffer, sister Michelle Huffer, stepmother Joan Huffer and her grandparents Frank and Judy Pearson, all of Grand Rapids, MI; her grandparents Frank Yaple and Betty DeGraw of Horseheads, NY; and her grandparents Jack and Arlene Bean of Waverly, NY. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at 11:00, in First Presbyterian Church, Broadway and Everett Street, Newport. Burial will be private.
