Stephanie Natalie Carlson Sullivan, 73, of 76 Everett Street, Middletown, RI, died Friday, May 27, 2005 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of Lt.Col. Robert Sullivan, retired US Army of Middletown, RI.Born in San Pedro, CA on July 27, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Rear Admiral Daniel Carlson, retired US Navy, and Natalie Savage Carlson.Mrs. Sullivan graduated from Bellingham High School in Bellingham, WA. She then went on to Salve Regina College where she earned her BA, and then to the University of Rhode Island where she received her masters degree. Mrs. Sullivan was a teacher and librarian with the elementary school in Scituate, RI, retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Con Fraternity of Penitence, formerly served as treasurer, also a former member of the Secular Fransician Order in Newport. Mrs. Sullivan was an avid member of the Jesus Savior Church. Besides her husband she is survived by her children Robert David Sullivan and his companion Anna Lombardozzi of Jupiter, FL, William Paul Sullivan of Middletown, RI, Laurie Sullivan Bissett and her husband Ronald Bissett of Port Charlotte, FL, and Martha?s Vineyard, MA, Thela Sullivan Huffman and her husband Paul Huffman of Brawley, CA, her sister Dr. Julie Carlson McAlpine, PHD and her husband Walter McAlpine of Middletown, RI, grandchildren Christina Marie Apczynski and her husband John V. Apczynski of Riverside, RI, granddaughter Ariana Sullivan of Jupiter, FL, and her grandson Austin Sullivan of Jupiter, FL. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, June 1, at 9:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
