Stephen Thomas Benisch

Newport, RI - Stephen Thomas Benisch, 54, died Friday, July 3, 2009 at home in Middletown after a courageous battle with cancer.Born in Newport, RI on October 24, 1954, Stephen is survived by his parents William and Dorothy Benisch of Newport, Hope Yordy and their daughter Nicole Benisch, and Donna Benisch and their daughter Jessica Benisch. He is also survived by sisters Cynthia Saez and her husband Ismael Saez, Susan Morgan and her husband Paul Morgan, brothers David Benisch, William Benisch, Jr., Thomas Benisch and his wife Dawn Benisch, and Michael Benisch. He is also survived by long time companion Wilma Traylor and many nieces and nephews. Stephen was a graduate of Roger High School and was a member of Allvets of Middletown. He worked as a furniture restorer, but was very gifted with his hands. Known as a master of all trades, he could fix just about anything.
