Stuart Allen Grev

Portsmouth, RI - Stuart Allen Grev, 82, of 117 Young Drive, Portsmouth, RI, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Forest Farm Health Care Center, Middletown, RI.He was the husband of Eileen Moffett Grev and the former husband of the late Ruth G. Abelson Grev. Born in Odin, MN on April 29, 1928, he was the son of the late Syver and Annie Sanbo Grev.Mr. Grev worked for the American Can Company for 40 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Island Senior Chorus and also played trombone. Mr. Grev was a treasurer of Oakland Farms for 17 year, was on the board at St. Peters Church and was also a member of the St. Peters Choir. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Beside his wife he is survived by his children, Michael Grev of Mahwah, NJ, Brian Grev of Alta Loma, CA, Cynthia McGuire of Portsmouth, RI and Kristine Springett of Middletown, RI, his sister Colleen Hammer of Mesa, AZ, his grandchildren, Heather Grev, Matthew Grev, Christopher Grev, Zachary Springett, Amy Springett, Donna Rush and Carmen Fenton and his great grandson Kaine Grev. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010, from 4-7, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.His funeral will be held on Friday, December 17, 2010, at 10:00am in St. Peters Lutheran Church, 525 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.
