Stuart Leo Caulfield

Newport, RI - Stuart Leo Caulfield, 80, of 13 Chestnut Street, Newport, RI, died Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Mass General Hospital, Boston, MA. He was the husband of Dolores J. Carroll Caulfield. Born in Westerly, RI on January 11, 1927, he was the son of the late Stuart L. and Helen Smith Caulfield.Mr. Caulfield was honorably discharged from the US Army. He retired from General Dynamics as a senior cost analyst after 37 years of employment. His love of golf and the Boston Red Sox was unsurpassed. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son David Caulfield and his wife Maureen of Burke, VA, his grandchildren Kathleen Caulfield and John Caulfield, his stepdaughter Carolyn Farias of Taunton, MA, his stepson Rick Barron of Brookline, MA, his brother Norman Caulfield of Bradford, RI, and his sisters Mary Jane Sullivan of Bluffton, SC, and Barbara Ozment of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his brothers David, Richard and Ronald Caulfield. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007, from 4-6pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by a prayer service at 6pm.His funeral will be held on Monday, July 16, 2007, at 10:00am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.Burial will be private.
