Prudence Island, RI - Sumner Everett Ellsworth, 77, of 300 Narragnasett Avenue, Prudence Island, Portsmouth, RI, died peacefully Saturday, September 9, 2006 at home. Born in Boston, MA on Aug. 1, 1929, he was the son of the late Dr. Roy Everett and Mabel Quilter Ellsworth.Mr. Ellsworth was a 1951 graduate of Dean Junior College in Franklin, MA. Early in his career as a Professional Land Surveyor, he held positions at Engineering firms in Norfolk County, MA. From 1967-1978 he was a partner in Ellsworth and Holman Engineering Associates, Inc. in Franklin, MA. He later became the Public Works Superintendant on Prudence Island and held positions at Engineering firms in Rhode Island.He is survived by his daughters Pamela Ellsworth and Linda Ellsworth of New York, NY, a brother Lee E. Ellsworth of Franklin, MA, and a sister Barbara E. Storey of Hadley, MA. He was preceded in death by a sister Virginia L. Shaw and a brother John Jay Ellsworth. A Memorial Service will be held at Farnham Farm on Prudence Island on Saturday, October 7 at 11:00am.
