Susan Benson

Portsmouth, RI - If you have ever heard her laugh, you will surely miss it. Susan Benson loved to have fun and the laughter that went along with it. Always armed with a kind word or a compliment, she was always thinking of someone else... the most selfless lady around. She adored being a mom to her three sons and believed it was a job that never ended. She continued to spoil them and their families until the very end. Someone with the capacity to love and give so fiercely affects so many along the way. As the sun shines over the peaceful river, we pray that she too is at peace. Susan is survived by her brothers Arthur Miller of Guilford, CT and his wife Ellen, and Davies Miller of Guntersville, AL. She also leaves her sons Scott Benson of Essex, CT and his wife Kristen, Ken Benson of Newport, RI and Nicholas Benson of Eagle, CO and his wife Torrey. Her grandchildren Evan, Anna, Tyler and Tulley will continue to know and love her for the rest of their lives. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 3 at 1pm at Portsmouth United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made at www.alzheimers.org.
