Middletown, RI - Susan Elizabeth (Bryan) Smith, 52, of Middletown, RI, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014, at home surrounded by her family.She was born in Newport, RI on November 2, 1961, to Barbara (Deviney) Bryan and the late Alfred J. Bryan Jr. and the granddaughter of the late Alfred J. and Penelope (Chase) Bryan. Susan graduated from Rogers High School in 1980 and attended Salve Regina University. Susan was a beloved member of the community and could frequently be found attending her boys sporting events cheering them on. When she wasnt cheering on her boys she was rooting for the Patriots, especially Tom Brady, and the Red Sox. Susan is survived by her husband David and her two children; Kyle, 15 and Kevin, 12,her sisters Debbie Bryan, Diana (Bryan) Kriner and her husband Mitch, and brothers Jimmy, Patrick and his wife Amanda (Martinson) Bryan, Mark and the late Joey Bryan, her in-laws Roy and Carol (Garrison) Smith, brother-in-laws, Larry and Debbie (Haas) Smith, Glenn and Donna (Leonard) Smith, Bonnie Stevens, a/k/a sis, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins she loved dearly. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014, from 5-8pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014, at 10:30am, in First Presbyterian Church, Broadway, Newport, followed by a celebration of her life at Vasco da Gama on Fenner Avenue. Please dress casually for this celebration, at Susan's request, as this will be a family style cookout.
