Portsmouth, RI - Susan Jean Brown Carey, 50, of 86 Norseman Drive, Portsmouth, RI, died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI. Born in Newport, RI on June 29, 1958, she was the beloved daughter of Roger Jerome Brown, Sr. of Portsmouth, RI and the late Dorothy Jean Vieira Brown.Susan was a communicant of St. Anthonys Church. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving mother to Shana Jean Brady of Middletown, RI, and Tessa Letha Carey and Vada Alena Carey of Portsmouth, RI, beloved grandmother to Christian Spencer Brady, Joshua Tyler Brady, Zachary Jerome Brady, Jacob Robert Vega Brady and Naomi Jean Vega Brady and sister to Wayne Conrad Brown of Portsmouth, RI and Robert James Brown of Tiverton, RI. She was also the loving mother to the late Paul Laurence Carey, III and the sister of the late Roger Jerome Brown, Jr. Her funeral will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009, at 9:00 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2009, from 4-8 in the funeral home.
