Susan M. Griffee

Middletown, RI - Susan Martha Griffee, 86, of 205 Aquidneck Avenue, Middletown, RI, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at home. She was the wife of the late William G. Griffee. Born in Fall River, MA on July 9, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Shaker and Alia Shaker.Mrs. Griffee was a waitress for the former Leo?s First and Last Stop and also at the 4th Street Diner and the Galley. She was a member of the Fleet Reserve #19 Auxiliary, where she served as past Vice President and Honorary Life Member and she was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She is survived by her brothers Joseph Salih of Fall River, MA, and Salih Shaker of Coventry, RI, her sister Josephine Lahoud of Somerset, MA and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jeanette Freitas. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2007, at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 19, 2007, from 4-8 in the Memorial Funeral Home.
