Susan M. Huntemann Tranghese Bristol, RI - Susan M. Huntemann Tranghese 57, passed away on May 4, 2010 after a long illness.Born in Providence and raised in Cranston, she was the daughter and only child of George and Dorothy Huntemann.Susan attended the University of Massachusetts and Amherst College and was a freelance designer before joining the Providence Journal in 1983. In her thirteen years at the journal she won numerous awards as the creative director of the now defunct Rhode Island magazine. Involved in numerous charities, she co-created and co-ran two highly successful jewelry and accessory companies. Susan Huntemann Designs and Just 4 Now were well known throughout the state of Rhode Island. Susan leaves behind her husband Michael Tranghese, the former Commissioner of The Big East Conference and her cousin Ann Eutsler of Houston, TX. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010, from 4-8pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.Her services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010, starting at 9:30am in the Connors Funeral Home, followed by burial at 11:00am in Juniper Hill Cemetery, Sherry Avenue, Bristol.In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to either, the Amos House, 415 Friendship Street, Providence, RI 02907 or the Rhode Island Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence, RI 02907.
