Susan P. Leary

Newport, RI - Susan Polley Leary, 63, of 16 Ward Avenue, Newport, RI, formerly of Longmeadow, MA, died Thursday, May 4, 2006, at home. Born in Brooklyn, NY, on September 28, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Robert Elston and Beatrice Haneman Polley.Mrs. Leary was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from the High School of Fashion in New York City and started her career in fashion and retail merchandising in New York City. She continued her career in Springfield, MA and Newport, RI. Mrs. Leary was active in the Rotary Club and Trinity Church in Newport. She is survived by her son Robert G. Leary of Greenwich, CT, her daughter Tara Leary of Portland, CT, her sister Barbara Sheeran of Brooklyn, NY, her granddaughter Emma Leary of Greenwich, CT and many nieces, nephews and cousins across the country. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 9, at 11:00a.m. in Trinity Church, Queen Anne Square, Newport. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 8, 2006, from 5-8p.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
