Susan B. Johnson died peacefully in her sleep at home in Newport, RI on January 22, 2007. She is survived by her two sons, Christo and Jamie Johnson, her daughter in law Nichole Johnson, her brothers Jay Baldwin and John C. Moore and her sister Mimi Rosenwald, as well as her mother in law Mary Johnson. She was predeceased by her husband James D. Johnson and her son Reed Johnson.Susan was an avid sailor and a member of the NY Yacht Club and the Clambake Club in Newport. She was a vice commodore of the Shake A Leg Sailing club and a member of the Council for Sailors with Disabilities, Sports Medicine Committee, and a past chair of the US Disabled Championship Committee for US Sailing. She was also a former member of the Noroton Yacht Club.Susan had a passion for art and was a member of the Silvermine Artists Guild and the Newport Art Museum.There will be a memorial service for Susan at her beloved St. Columba Berkley Memorial Chapel, 55 Vaucluse Avenue, Middletown, RI at a date to be announced.In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent in Susans memory to:US Sailing Association/Disabled Sailing Team, 15 Maritime Drive, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
