Theresa Delores Welby

Theresa Delores Costa Welby, 77, of 35 Squantum Drive Middletown, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late James J. Welby. Born in Cambridge, MA on October 9, 1926, she was the daughter of late Mr. and Mrs. Antonio Costa. Mrs. Welby was a Homemaker. She was one of 18 children. Mrs. Welby was a member of the Middletown Democratic Womens Association and also worked the voting polls. She was a communicate of St. Lucys Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and also the CPO Wives and active in the Middletown Senior Center. She is survived by two sons Ronald Welby of Portsmouth, RI, and James J. Welby Jr. of Friendswood, TX, and one daughter Catherine Woods of Pittsfield, NH, and also her sister Gloria Healey of Arlington, MA, 10 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.Her funeral will be held Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.
