Thomas F. Devine

Thomas F. Devine, 85, of 4 Beacon Terrace Middletown, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at Village House Newport, RI.He was the husband of Mary B. Dwyer Devine. Born in Fall River, MA on February 25, 1917, he was the son of the late Louis and Elizabeth Doran Devine.Mr. Devine was a Computer Systems Analyst with the Federal Civil Service on the Newport Naval Base, retiring in 1977. He stared in the torpedo station and later worked in the supply depot. Mr. Devine was a member and past treasurer of the Middletown Knights of Columbus. Besides his wife of 58 years he is survived by two sons Thomas F. Devine Jr. of Middletown, RI, and Michael J. Devine of Portsmouth, RI, three daughters Elizabeth Hughes of Newport, RI, Kathleen L. Forrest of Tiverton, RI, and Margaret Machado of Newport, RI, one sister Helen Niconchuck of Peabody, MA, and, and eight grandchildren.He was the brother of the late Louis Devine Jr., Francis Devine, and Anna Devine. His funeral will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2002 at 9:00am, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.
