Thomas J. Vivieros, 64, of Rogers Lane, Middletown, RI, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 24, 2014 in Arlington, VA while traveling to attend Memorial Day services in Washington, DC.He was the husband of Laurene (Lema) Vivieros.Born in Newport, RI on August 26, 1949, he was the son of the late Gabriel and Doris B. (Dyer) Vivieros.Tom was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the US Air Force. He was a member of the Aquidneck Island Police Drum Corps and Newport Boys Club Drum Corps. As a printer, he had taught print shop at Rogers High School. Tom was also skilled in carpentry and tile work. He was a drummer and a member of the band "4-Play" which played in the local area. Tom enjoyed playing darts and was a proud member of the motorcycle club USVMC.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Michelle Andrews of Warren, RI, Edith Vivieros of Portsmouth, RI, Jeffrey Gambrel of Portsmouth, RI, Candace Hopkins of El Cajon, CA and Jill Gaylard of Alaska; his brother, Robert Vivieros of Portsmouth, RI; and ten grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 4-8 pm in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.His funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 8:30 am in Memorial Funeral Home.
