Thomas L. Trout peacefully entered into his eternal rest on Friday, February 27, 2009 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA. Born in Collinsville, PA to J. Kirwin and Susan R. Trout on December 7, 1922, he was the youngest of four brothers. The family relocated to Portsmouth, RI in 1925 to provide loving support for his fathers two sisters, Ada and Elizabeth Trout, who as young Malone College graduates came to pastor their first and only church, Portsmouth Evangelical Friends on Quaker Lane. The family continued their lifes work in the field of farming on the banks of the Sakonnet until one day, his oldest brother decided to build a house. After graduating from Rogers High School, Tom followed in his brothers footsteps and built over 200 homes which came to be popularly known as Trout Houses. Tom was dedicated to his new found career affording many young families the opportunity of home ownership.He leaves his wife Andrea, his brother Kenneth D. and sister-in-law, Andrea of New Britain, CT, a sister-in-law, Marion Trout of Bristol, and many beloved step-children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edwin K. and C. Andrew Trout.A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the Portsmouth Evangelical Friends Church at 10 am with a brief burial service at 11 am in the family plot on the church grounds. The service will be conducted by Pastor Ed Baci of the First Baptist Church of Hixville, North Dartmouth, MA and Pastor Paul Anderson of the Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Fall River, MA. Following will be fellowship and refreshments for many family and friends.
