Thomas P. Miranda

Thomas P. Miranda, 67, of Tiverton died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Born in Fall River, MA on July 7, 1948, he was the son of the late John Miranda and Lorraine (Gomes) Miranda Santos.He leaves behind his wife of 45 years Barbara (Pavao) Miranda. Together they raised seven children: Donna (Miranda) King of Tiverton, RI, William Miranda of Warwick, RI, James Soares of Fort Worth, TX, Michael Soares of Waupaca, WI, Janice (Soares) Cabral of East Providence, RI, Anthony Soares of Riverside, RI, Linda (Soares) White of Seminole, AL and fifteen grandchildren.He was the brother of Shirley (Miranda) Leins of Gary, IN, Dianne (Miranda) Jarvis of Zebulon, NC, and brother of the late Robert Miranda.He completed over 50 years of continuous membership in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 94 and retired from R.P. Ianicello and Sons Construction in 2004.He was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp and served in the Vietnam War. Tom was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time on the water.Calling hours will be Friday, March 4 from 4-8pm at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 9:00 AM from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, followed by a Mass Of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
