Portsmouth, - Thomas Stoupis, 73, of 59 Roger Williams Court, Portsmouth, RI and of Naples, FL, died Thursday, August 21, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.He was the husband of Eva Andreopolis Stoupis. Born in Albania on October 4, 1929, he came to the United States in 1935. He was the son of Athena Lollis Stoupis of Middletown, RI and the late Christos Stoupis Mr. Stoupis graduated from Mary Wells High School in Southbridge, MA he went on to graduate from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY in 1952. He worked for 40 years for the Raytheon Company retiring in 1993 as manager of Raytheon Service Co. in Portsmouth, RI. Also while at Raytheon he held various positions and distinguished himself in all areas of electrical design related to the research and development of underwater sonar systems. Mr. Stoupis was a member of the Maud Howe Elliott Chapter of the AHEPA. Besides his wife and mother he leaves a daughter Valerie Wynn, a son in law Howard Wynn, and grandchildren Peter Wynn, and Zoe Wynn all of Mill Valley, CA, His funeral will be held Saturday, August 23, 2003, at 11:00 AM in St. Spyridons Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Worcester.
