Portsmouth, RI - Thomas Vincent Gleeson, 95, of 125 Quaker Hill Road Portsmouth, formerly of 18 Chase Terrace, Portsmouth, died Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.He was the husband of the late Dorothy Pauline Wyatt Gleeson. Born in Fall River, MA on May 22, 1909, he was the son of the late John and Katherine Smith Gleeson. Mr. Gleeson was a manager at the First National Store in Portsmouth for many years. He was a founding member of the Christopher Rooney Council Knights of Columbus in Portsmouth, and a member of the Fourth Degree. Mr. Gleeson was also active in Portsmouth politics. He was appointed to the Portsmouth Zoning Board and Portsmouth Zoning Board of Review. Thomas was also a long time member of the Portsmouth Democratic Committee. Mr. Gleeson was an avid golfer and was the oldest member of Green Valley Country Club in Portsmouth. He also enjoyed walking and could be seen walking throughout Portsmouth. He is survived by two daughters Kathleen Levesque of Bristol, RI, and Claire Gleeson of Rochester, NY, his brother William Gleeson of Portsmouth, RI, two sisters Katherine Golden of Portsmouth, RI, and Dorothy Walker of Peterborough, NH, and several nieces and nephews.His funeral will be held on Monday, February 21, 2005, at 9:00 AM from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
