Newport, RI ? Urania Sousa Ventura, 80, of 20 Xavier Terrace, Newport, RI, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, October 29, 2007 at Village House Nursing Home, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Abilio Ventura. Born in Arrifes, Sao Miguel, Azores, on September 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Emilia Sousa Diogo.Mrs. Ventura worked for over 25 years at the Newport Hospital. She participated at Forest Farm with the Adult Day Care Activities and was a former member of the Middletown Senior Center. Urania was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by son Victor M. Ventura and his wife Anna of Middletown, RI, her daughters Odette Bradfield and her husband Robert of Newport, RI, and Aida LeVasseur and her husband Paul of Middletown, RI, her grandsons Michael and David Ventura, Robert, Stephen and William Bradfield and Evan LeVasseur, her great grandchildren, Max, Emma and Jackson Ventura, Avery Carreiro, and Robert and Lawrence Bradfield, her loving sisters Maria Jose Ventura of Middletown, RI, Angela Medeiros of Middletown, RI and Ursulina Furtado of British Columbia, Canada and her many beloved nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Manuel Alves, Jose Sousa, Pedro Diogo and Tiogo Diogo. Her funeral will be held on Friday, November 2, 2007, at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport.
